Nursing is one of the most exciting and challenging careers that an individual can pursue. As a licensed vocational nurse, you will provide physical and emotional care to residents. You will assist with medical and minor surgical procedures. Other duties include assessing, recording, and reporting vital signs, and responding to medical emergencies. Whichever path you pursue, CDI guarantees you will be prepared for success.

Home Health Aides (HHA) have the option to work in an assisted living facility or in a private home. The U.S. Department of Labor Bureau of Labor Statistics (USDL BLS) projects that overall employment for home health aides is expected “to grow 50 percent between 2008 and 2018, which is much faster than the average for all occupations.” Growth will vary between these individual occupations. Furthermore, according to the USDL BLS, for Home Health Aides specifically, the following factors will contribute to the “much faster than average employment growth:”

Restorative Nursing Aides (RNA) are essentially CNAs who have more specialized training. RNAs have many duties, some of which included assessing for feeding programs, applying splints, braces, and other orthotic devices, and providing physical and emotional needs to patients. As an RNA, you will be qualified to work in nursing home, a hospital, an assisted living facility, an adult day health center, or even a private home.

Nursing Assistants (NA) provide an extremely valuable and much needed service to our society. As a nursing assistant you will provide personal care to residents. This includes bathing residents, taking vital signs, feeding, and helping with dressing and ambulation.
